Ask a nine-year-old what they watched last Tuesday and you get a shrug. Ask them about the rubber-band racer they built in March and you get a demonstration, a repair history, and a list of planned upgrades.
The difference is ownership. Making something leaves a trail of decisions, and decisions are what memory hangs on to. Which color, which angle, which fix after the first crash. Every choice is a hook.
This is why our guides ask questions instead of giving exact measurements where we can. "How tall should the tower be?" is a better step than "cut at 40 cm", because the answer belongs to the builder.
So if you want this weekend to be remembered in a year, skip the perfect kit. Pick the project with decisions in it.
